Weather Logistics Ltd.
Weather and climate (satellite) data sourcing, extraction, processing, data preparation and analyses (including forecast, observation and climatology maps and techniques) have been developed by Weather Logistics Ltd®. The company maintains ownership of its data and distributes its own weather and climate products / services using a unique predictive software algorithm. Seasonal climate forecasts and analysis charts are its sole property and are not for resale or distribution to third parties without consent. Open data sources are the foundation of this software development and are subject to post-processing and modification to derive output variables. Quality and validation screening processes are conducted internally, however, to ensure the best quality data independent assessments of the forecast and observational datasets have been conducted externally.
Daily precipitation forecasts validated impartially and independently by The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) through UKRI/ A4I/ Innovate UK funding. The NPL is the UK's National Metrology Institute, providing measurement capability that underpins the UK's prosperity and quality of life. The Analysis for Innovators (A4I) Competition has been running since 2016. A4I is a very different type of programme from Innovate UK's usual grant funding competitions. It is focused on helping individual companies solve tricky and, perhaps, long running technical problems affecting existing processes, products or services. Innovate UK is the UK's innovation agency who drive productivity and economic growth by supporting businesses to develop and realise the potential of new ideas. It connects businesses to the partners, customers and investors that can help them turn ideas into commercially successful products and services and business growth.
